The Origin of the Scandinavian Armchair:
Like overall Scandinavian design, the history of the Scandinavian armchair dates to the early 20th century, with influences from the late 19th-century British Arts & Crafts movement. By integrating modern touches, the most renowned Scandinavian designers developed a distinctive and recognizable style using innovative materials such as moulded plywood, plastic, plexiglass, and glass.
