Curation of 20th Century Scandinavian Vintage Armchairs

Our Collection of Restored Vintage Armchairs, passion of our Maison
A return to the 1950s with the most famous mid-20th century Scandinavian design models sourced by Sonia Linard and her husband Thierry in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, or Norway. Authentic pieces restored using traditional techniques of custom upholstery.
Our Atelier then meticulously restores them with precious coverings in shearling, sheepskin, cowhide, pony hair, or fur.
Each seat thus becomes a unique work of art, a perfect fusion of Nordic minimalism and the refinement of noble materials. Let yourself be seduced by creations steeped in history, ready to breathe incomparable soul and timeless elegance into your most exclusive design projects.

Like global Nordic design, the history of the vintage Scandinavian armchair begins in the early 20th century, nurtured by the aesthetic influences of the late 19th century British Arts & Crafts movement, the Bauhaus, and modernism. By revisiting these currents with a resolutely modern sensibility, the most renowned designers of the era shaped a distinctive and immediately recognizable style. This was an era of boldness, where innovative materials like molded plywood, plastic, plexiglass, and glass emerged alongside traditional wood species.
Crafted in solid wood, oak or walnut, and adorned with leather or rare materials, these seats revive the elegance of a bygone era. An excellence that our Maison transmits and protects with passion.
These vintage armchairs embody the very essence of the creative genius of the last century. Whether designed by legendary figures such as Arne Jacobsen, Folke Ohlsson, and Hans Wegner, or imagined by talented anonymous designers between 1900 and 1960, each piece of furniture is a silent poem, a witness to a rich cultural and artistic history.
Iconic pieces like the USA 75 armchair by Folke Ohlsson or the minimalist Easy Chair Mama Bear by Hans Wegner beautifully illustrate this perfect harmony between modernist movements and Nordic craftsmanship. Similarly, more daring designs, like the pair of Impala seats edited by IKEA, bear witness to a constant quest for aesthetics and visual comfort. More than simple seats, they are true, durable works of art, destined to become the centerpieces of your home sweet home, bringing a touch of sophistication and poetry to your daily life.
Each vintage armchair we select undergoes an art restoration of absolute standards. Our Atelier deploys all its expertise to preserve the soul, spirit, and original lines of the piece, while ensuring contemporary durability. This high-level work highlights our exceptional skills in furnishing couture and EPV fur couture. Thanks to this extra soul, the furniture finds new life, adorned with flawless finishes and luxurious textures.
Combine the historic character of our seating with the textured softness of a custom rug. From New York to London, Paris to Brussels, Geneva to Berlin, our exceptional vintage armchairs now adorn the most beautiful private residences and residential projects around the world, proudly bearing the decorative signature and refinement of Maison Norki.
