Art and Design Meet in Megève and Gstaad

A Summer in the Mountains – When Art Finds a Home in the Heart of the Alps

At NORKI, we have always celebrated a lifestyle where the elegance of materials meets the refinement of timeless luxury. In this spirit, we imagined “Un Été à la Montagne” a thoughtful and inspiring exhibition designed for our warm and inviting spaces in Megève and Gstaad.

In artistic collaboration with the Ritsch-Fisch Gallery, we bring together three artists with distinct worlds – Stefan Holzmüller, Carlo Zinelli, and Cassandre Albert – to offer our visitors an artistic immersion at the heart of Alpine aesthetics. Through their works, the magic of the peaks, the verticality of the landscapes, and the age-old dialogue between Man and Nature come to life.

Ceramic sculptures, dreamlike paintings, and graphic compositions engage in conversation with the noble textures of our interiors. Between morning mists, silent forests, and forgotten tales, art seeps into the wooded tranquillity of chalets to reveal a new way of experiencing the mountains. At NORKI, we believe that art is not only to be admired in museums – it is to be lived, close to oneself, in the gentle embrace of an Alpine summer.

Carlo Zinelli & the Anja Collection – A Powerful Encounter at Our Gstaad Boutique

At NORKI, we love to create unexpected dialogues between art and materials. This vision comes to life in a striking juxtaposition between Carlo Zinelli’s universe and our Anja Collection, showcased in our Gstaad boutique.

A leading figure of Art Brut, Zinelli developed a unique pictorial language composed of human and animal silhouettes, often shown in profile, sometimes pierced with stars or abstract shapes. Each piece, painted front and back on paper, tells a silent story – personal, poetic, and deeply instinctive. Themes of war, fragments of childhood, visions of nature – Zinelli’s work unfolds in a raw, coded, and unconstrained narrative that escapes artistic conventions.

The Anja Collection, with its brutalist aesthetic and bold visual presence, resonates with this inner power. The contrast between the collection’s strong lines and Zinelli’s dreamlike world creates a refined, character-rich tension. Two very different visual languages, united by the same intensity.

This pairing embodies our vision: to make our spaces emotional places, where design meets art in all its expressive force.

Stefan Holzmüller & the Organic Soul of Vintage Furniture in Gstaad

In Gstaad, the sculptural universe of Stefan Holzmüller comes to life at the heart of our boutique, in direct dialogue with a carefully curated selection of vintage furniture. Originally from Karlsruhe, this German master artisan began as a potter before devoting himself to ceramics, developing a deeply intuitive and expressive approach to the medium.

His clay creations – a blend of high reliefs and free-standing sculptures – draw a world that is both organic and dreamlike. Twisted towers, pierced volumes, raw forms: his pieces evoke fragments of ancient architecture, fossils from an archaic imagination, or remnants of a forgotten world. Each sculpture seems to carry a subterranean energy, as if imbued with the memory of the mountains.

In our Gstaad space, these singular ceramics rest atop our tables and engage with the character-rich lines of our vintage furniture. This meeting of terracotta and weathered wood, of sculptural forms and 20th century design, creates a warm and timeless atmosphere, true to the NORKI spirit.

Here, craftsmanship becomes poetry, and every object tells a story. A story we are proud to share with our visitors, at the heart of the mountains.

Cassandre Albert & the Vibrant Colours of Our Megève Boutique

In Megève, our boutique becomes the stage for a luminous dialogue between the works of Cassandre Albert and a selection of boldly coloured design pieces. Born in 2000 in Tours, this young artist trained at HEAR (Haute École des Arts du Rhin) is establishing herself as a promising voice in the contemporary art scene, with a body of work rooted in the careful observation of landscapes – especially mountain landscapes.

Her series Par-delà l’enchantement, presented by the Ritsch-Fisch Gallery, blends oil and acrylic to depict landscapes imbued with mysterious strength. At the border between figuration and abstraction, Cassandre Albert explores the tension between the visible and the invisible. She creates nearly suspended worlds where one is invited to feel rather than understand.

In our Megève spaces, her works naturally resonate with our iconic and colourful pieces. The vivid blue Swedish Sofa, the M418 Coral Armchairs by designer Yrjö Kukkapuro, and the Simone Rug from the Riviera collection in vibrant hues – each piece engages with the artist’s sensitive palette. Together, they form a vibrant visual choreography that blends boldness, elegance, and freedom.

At NORKI, we believe that art and design nourish each other – and that they transform spaces into true aesthetic experiences. In Megève, this alliance takes on a special dimension: an invitation to experience the mountains differently – with colour and emotion.
