Get the Look | Inside an Eclectically Designed Apartment
An eclectically styled Paris apartment boasting the best view.
Perched atop a Parisian building, this unique apartment feels suspended between sky and earth, set against one of the most breathtaking views in the capital. The Seine winds below, the Eiffel Tower rises in the distance, and all of Paris unfolds before the eyes through the immense arched picture window that gives this extraordinary living room its character. But the spectacle doesn’t end outside: every square meter of this interior has been conceived as a manifesto of style and personality. Welcome to the colorful, eclectic, and theatrical world of Chad Leat.
A Bold and Colorful Universe
From the moment you enter, the tone is set. Bright colors make a fearless entrance: cherry red for the dining table, turquoise for the modernist armchairs in the living room, violet, gold, and blue in the sculptural chandelier hanging from the ceiling. White, once the reigning color of Parisian interiors, takes a backseat here. The era of pristine apartments seems over—this is a place for expression, boldness, and joy.
Each room is designed as a work of art in itself. Far from any form of conformity, this decor proudly embraces its originality. It’s a masterful mix of contemporary designer pieces, vintage finds, and custom creations, forming a dynamic and unexpected whole. This isn’t just an apartment—it’s a sensory experience, almost cinematic in nature.
The Fur Rug Sets the Tone
At the heart of the living room lies a spectacular rug: a bespoke piece made from genuine Argentine grey fox fur, created by Norki. Placed atop herringbone wood flooring, this dense and luxurious rug instantly infuses the room with warmth and theatricality. It invites both comfort and contemplation, becoming the visual anchor of the space.
This bold material choice—rare, precious, and sensual—perfectly illustrates the home’s philosophy: transforming every decorative element into a collectible piece. The rug is no longer a mere accessory; it’s a centerpiece that tells a story of craftsmanship and discreet luxury.
The Parquet: A Parisian Signature
If one element grounds this apartment in its Parisian identity, it’s the parquet flooring. Laid in a chevron pattern, a classic of Haussmannian style, it’s been elegantly reimagined to complement the space’s contemporary aesthetic. The dark wood adds warmth and depth, subtly contrasting with the light walls and abundant natural light.
In a setting so rich in colour and form, the flooring plays a stabilizing role. It visually balances the space and provides an elegant continuity from the dining area to the living room.
The Client’s Vision
American collector Chad Leat had one clear request: create a “wow” effect at first sight. A simple luxury apartment wasn’t enough. He wanted an immersive, spectacular space—somewhere between an art gallery and contemporary theater. A home that would leave no eye indifferent, where every object captures attention, evokes curiosity, or inspires awe.
The interior had to reflect his passion for art and design, while fulfilling one major requirement: making the most of the exceptional natural light and emphasizing the breathtaking view of Paris. The result? A space where the boundaries between decoration, art, and architecture dissolve—a joyful labyrinth of textures, colours, and emotion.
Designer Pieces and Powerful Artwork – A Style Variation by Norki
In addition to creating the magnificent bespoke rug, Norki offers a curated style variation inspired by the apartment’s decor. A vintage light wood table contrasts with the darker, two-tone parquet. Brutalist-style blackened wood seating sets the tone and brings character to the eclectic space. The colourful chandelier is replaced by a lighting piece from Laura Gonzalez’s collection—a geometric glass art object, visually soft yet immediately eye-catching.
On the wall, a carefully selected contemporary artwork makes a bold statement, drawing the gaze. Vintage baby-blue lamps punctuate the wall composition like visual musical notes.
It’s this mix of styles, periods, and signatures that gives the apartment its richness. Nothing is too serious—everything is intentional, contrasting, vibrant. A “contemporary cabinet of curiosities” spirit permeates the space.

Parisian Light, Elevated
One of the apartment’s greatest assets is, of course, its exceptional view. Thanks to the large arched window, natural light floods in, enhancing every detail of the decor. The ever-changing, poetic Parisian sky becomes part of the interior—a nearly painterly effect.
Interior colours were chosen to harmonize with this natural light. The warm tones of the living room, the vibrant red table, the golden hues, and the iridescent surfaces of the objects capture and reflect the light throughout the day, creating a lively and ever-evolving atmosphere.
A Style Manifesto
This Parisian apartment embodies a new vision of luxury: less codified, more personal, more artistic. It breaks away from the uniformity of standardized interiors to offer a full immersion into a strong aesthetic world. Here, beauty is not limited to elegance—it also expresses itself through surprise, boldness, and emotion.
For design lovers, this interior is an endless source of inspiration. It reminds us that every space can be a platform for expression, a curated collection, and a stage. Dare to use colour, statement pieces, and unexpected combinations. Create your own “wow.”
