NORKI fête 15 ans de création, d’artisanat et de liberté artistique
Fifteen years ago, Sonia Linard decided to transform a family craft into a unique professional adventure. The granddaughter of artisans specialized in fur sewing, she grew up surrounded by fabrics, hides, and the precise gestures that shape each creation. From a very young age, she understood that these rare skills could not be allowed to disappear and had to be passed on. In her living room, armed only with patience, creativity, and a touch of boldness, she began creating rugs, cushions, and throws in leather, fur, and shearling. Each handcrafted piece reflected her love of detail and her determination to keep a family heritage alive within a contemporary context. This is how Norki was born—at the crossroads of traditional craftsmanship and innovation—with the ambition to create objects that tell a story and reflect the soul of those who design them.
The Norki journey has never been solely about production. From the beginning, Sonia wanted every creation to be unique, to carry a strong identity while remaining warm and accessible. The choice to work with noble materials, the attention given to every gesture, and the constant pursuit of aesthetics and comfort quickly allowed Norki to stand out. Early clients were captivated by this blend of inherited craftsmanship and contemporary sensibility. Each piece leaving the workshop bore a recognizable signature: quality, authenticity, and understated elegance. Gradually, Norki established itself as a reference in the world of furniture and interior décor, while remaining faithful to its founding values.
To celebrate its fifteenth anniversary and as part of the European Days of Crafts (JEMA), Norki is exceptionally opening the doors of its workshop on April 11 and 12, 2026. These days offer a rare opportunity to discover what happens behind the scenes, meet the artisans, and witness firsthand how the objects that define the house’s reputation come to life.
Visitors will have the chance to attend demonstrations of fur sewing and Lunéville embroidery—signature techniques of Norki that combine precision, patience, and creativity. For those who wish to go further, hands-on workshops will be available by registration, allowing participants to directly experience these exceptional skills.
The visit has been designed to be both informative and immersive. Guests will be able to freely explore the workshop, observe artisans at work, and speak with them about their methods and craft secrets. The atmosphere is intended to be warm and inspiring, highlighting the central role of the human hand in every creation. Admission is free for all visitors, while workshops require prior registration to ensure a personalized and optimal experience. These days offer a deeper understanding that every Norki piece is born not only from an idea, but from meticulous and passionate work, where every gesture matters and every detail makes a difference.
Since its beginnings, Norki has evolved and structured itself around three complementary divisions, each contributing to the brand’s overall vision.
The first focuses on the creation of furniture and decorative object collections. In this branch, Norki designs unique pieces or small series made to last and to adapt to all interiors. Each item is crafted to combine aesthetics and functionality, offering endless customization possibilities thanks to the workshop’s traditional expertise.
The second division, interior decoration, allows Norki to design bespoke environments where every element contributes to creating a unique atmosphere.
Finally, the third division, bespoke design, gives clients the opportunity to bring their most personal ideas to life—whether an object, a piece of furniture, or a decorative project—with the assurance of a fully handcrafted and highly customizable result.
Norki’s richness lies in the combination of three rare and complementary crafts. Upholstery brings strength, texture, and aesthetic depth to each piece. Fur sewing, inherited from Sonia’s family experience, allows noble materials to be worked with precision and elegance. Lunéville embroidery, a technique often associated with haute couture, is the subtle detail that transforms each creation into a unique work of art. It enables objects and furniture to be personalized in countless ways, adding relief, patterns, or decorative elements found nowhere else. Combined within a single workshop, these techniques make Norki a place where tradition meets innovation and where each piece is a living work shaped by the artisan’s hand.
These fifteen years represent a celebration of craftsmanship and creativity, but also an invitation to share this passion with the public. The open days on April 11 and 12 are not simply an exhibition—they are an immersion into the world of Norki, where visitors discover how patience, expertise, and high standards create objects that stand the test of time.
Whether one is a design enthusiast, a collector, or simply curious, visiting the workshop offers insight into how every gesture, every stitch, and every embroidery tells a story. It is an opportunity to understand that behind every creation lies a deep commitment to excellence and respect for artisanal work. Norki is not just a brand—it is a living heritage that everyone is invited to discover, touch, and admire.
In short, Norki celebrates its fifteenth anniversary with the same passion that first brought it to life in Sonia Linard’s living room. The workshop, now structured and innovative, remains faithful to its roots and its dedication to promoting rare craftsmanship. These open days are a unique opportunity to meet the artisans, learn, exchange ideas, and find inspiration. They demonstrate that beyond furniture and objects, Norki is a human adventure—where every detail matters, every piece is designed to endure, and creativity blends with tradition to give birth to a world that is both unique and timeless.
