Norki welcomes you on the occasion of the Rosey Ball in Gstaad

Le Rosey: an institution of excellence where tradition and modernity converse

Nestled at the heart of Switzerland’s most discreet landscapes, Le Rosey has embodied for over a century a singular vision of education: a cosmopolitan boarding school, deeply rooted in the European humanist tradition yet resolutely oriented toward the world to come. Nicknamed “a school for life,” this prestigious institution cultivates a rare art of living where academic rigor, international culture, and artistic sensitivity coexist in harmony. Here, learning extends far beyond the classroom: it is found in the landscapes, in the architecture, in the constant dialogue between cultures, and in the aesthetic, intellectual, and ethical standards that shape every space and every moment.

Le Rosey is above all a place of balance, where the classicism of its historic Rolle campus – bordered by the calm waters of Lake Geneva – meets the alpine breath of its winter campus. This balance defines the institution’s signature: to offer students an environment where educational excellence is paired with immersion in beauty, nature, and the arts. In this carefully orchestrated universe where every detail matters, culture holds a central place, both in the curriculum and in daily life, making Le Rosey a school where creativity is considered an essential component of human development.

Gstaad: winter as a second nature

Each year, with the arrival of winter, Le Rosey moves to Gstaad, perpetuating a unique tradition in the global landscape of education. This migration, almost ritualistic, reflects the school’s refined and nomadic philosophy: offering students a multiplicity of environments capable of stimulating both the mind and the gaze. Gstaad was not chosen by chance. In this alpine village where elegance is lived without ostentation and where nature sets the right rhythm, Le Rosey finds a setting in its image: discreet, majestic, and imbued with a rare serenity.

The winter campus, created in 1916, embodies an ideal: placing students at the heart of a landscape that is at once protective and inspiring. Here, the mountain becomes a classroom, the white light of the peaks transforms into a space for reflection, and the discipline of winter sports harmoniously complements academic rigor. Gstaad offers the singular luxury of an intact, preserved environment, where simplicity blends with excellence. At this time of year, the village lives to the rhythm of Le Rosey’s cosmopolitan youth, bringing a new energy to the gentle winter of the Swiss Alps.

A dialogue between creation and elegance: Justin Weiler in Gstaad

For the prestigious Bal du Rosey – an event where elegance and generosity converge – our Gstaad boutique has the privilege this season of hosting French artist Justin Weiler. A visual artist whose work explores the tensions between transparency and opacity, light and darkness, Weiler works primarily with glass and paint, adopting a profoundly material and almost architectural approach to creation. His works, hypnotic in their precision, question space, density, and the ways surfaces capture or absorb the gaze.

Welcoming Justin Weiler during this particularly meaningful season is no coincidence: his artistic universe naturally resonates with the winter alpine aesthetic, defined by subtle contrasts and constant plays of light. His pieces – powerful yet silent – evoke the invisible structures of the landscape and the ambivalence of transparency, like windows onto the unseen.  In Gstaad, they find an obvious, almost natural resonance in our Norki boutique. Le Rosey’s audience, accustomed to an environment where art is never merely decorative but always contemplative, will recognize themselves in it effortlessly.

This artistic presence creates a new correspondence between the worlds of education, contemporary art, and the distinctive art of living in Gstaad. It affirms that culture is not an accessory but a structuring force – an element that enriches encounters, conversations, and experiences. On the occasion of the Bal du Rosey, visitors will be able to discover Weiler’s work in an intimate setting, designed as a showcase capable of highlighting the almost sculptural precision of his creations.

Our Gstaad boutique: a space open to the Rosey season

To accompany this singular period, our Gstaad boutique opens its doors throughout the winter season, in resonance with the presence of Le Rosey’s students. This moment of the year – when the village rediscovers its rhythm marked by culture, sport, and prestigious events – is the ideal occasion to unveil our collections and artistic collaborations to an international and discerning audience.

Our space is intended not only as a boutique but as a place of encounter: an alpine salon with a refined atmosphere where aesthetics, craftsmanship, and contemporary creation naturally converse. By hosting Justin Weiler this year, we seek to offer visitors an immersive experience at the crossroads of art and craftsmanship, contemplation and the discreet luxury that defines Gstaad.

Each winter, the arrival of Le Rosey brings renewed energy to the village. Our seasonal opening aligns with this movement, with the desire to create a place where elegance meets creation, and where the mountains become the stage for a subtle dialogue between culture and style. It is in this spirit that we welcome our visitors: with the conviction that, in this exceptional alpine setting, art always finds its natural home.
