Trophée Norki de l’Artisanat d’Avenir | National Young Talent Competition

Trophée Norki de l’Artisanat d’Avenir – 2nd Edition

A national competition to showcase talent in design and craftsmanship

Our Maison, specialized in high-end French decoration, is launching the second edition of the Trophée Norki, a national competition aimed at aspiring professionals in design and craftsmanship. After a successful first edition, this initiative returns with renewed ambition: to encourage young creativity, promote traditional know-how, and build bridges between exceptional craftsmanship and contemporary design.
This competition is fully aligned with Norki’s mission: to foster dialogue between innovation, creation, and technical heritage through concrete projects led by the new generation of creators.

A competition at the crossroads of design and craftsmanship

The Trophée Norki is open to fifth-year students enrolled in public art and design schools in France, as well as to recent graduates from these same institutions. Its goal is to bring forward projects that reflect both a personal vision of design and a sensitive understanding of craftsmanship.
The competition also offers students a unique opportunity to engage in dialogue with recognized industry professionals, test their approach against real production constraints, and gain visibility in the world of high-end design and decoration.

Theme of the 2026 Edition: “Le Tapis-siège selon Pierre Paulin”

For this second edition, participants will respond to a theme that is both open and challenging:
“Le Tapis-siège selon Pierre Paulin”

This theme pays tribute to one of the great names in 20th-century French design, known for his organic forms, enveloping seating, and his ability to combine technical innovation with the sensuality of materials. It invites candidates to explore a hybrid form between furniture and textile by imagining a functional, sculptural, and contemporary object.

Through this theme, Maison Norki encourages candidates to reinterpret the legacy of Pierre Paulin while showcasing the noble materials used by Norki and the craftsmanship that defines its signature style.

Competition Process and Timeline

The competition takes place in two phases:
1. Application Phase: Interested students and recent graduates must register online before November 28, 2025.
2. Design Phase: Candidates will then have until March 28, 2026 to submit a complete project file, including a concept note, sketches or 3D renderings, a technical approach, and any supporting material that helps explain their proposal (mock-ups, prototypes, etc.).

Shortlisted projects will be invited to give an oral presentation before a jury of professionals. The winner(s) will be announced following this session. The date and location of the award ceremony will be communicated at a later date.
