Armchair and footrest refurbished and upholstered in Camel tinted Curly Shearling.
Rotating Steel leg.
Designer Arne Jacobsen.
Armchair and footrest sourced and restored in-home.
Our seats are made of hides and furs. These are living materials that evolve over time. Hide is a naturally impermeable material which makes it very easy to clean.
Vacuuming your seat regularly. If stained, scrub the area with cold water only, without detergent or washing powder, you will risk changing the integrity of our products.
If your furniture has deteriorated, our workshop is able to respond to your request for your product repair and restoration. We invite you to contact our sales department.
Paying attention to where you place your seat will contribute to its longevity. It should be protected from damp and prolonged exposure to light.
Choose natural colours if you are exposed to strong sunlight, especially in the mountains, as they do not fade. If you opt for tinted skins, install anti-UV filters on the windows.
However, our tinted hides may lose colour saturation and fade slightly over time.
WORKSHOP SECRET
The Egg armchair was created as part of a major project: the complete refurbishment of the Royal SAS Hotel in Copenhagen.
Jacobsen, who was responsible for designing the entire building, wanted to create a harmonious, coherent environment where the architecture and furniture would blend perfectly.
He designed the Egg armchair and its companion, the Swan armchair.
Arne Jacobsen is a leading figure in Danish design, renowned for his functionalist approach and timeless aesthetic. A renowned architect and designer, he left an indelible mark on the architectural and furniture landscape of the 20th century.
His work is among the most important of the Danish functionalist movement, which advocated functional and rational architecture - a movement followed by Le Corbusier and Walter Gropius, for example... Arne Jacobsen's creations laid the foundations of Scandinavian organic modernism, which continues to influence thinking on architecture and design to this day.
