Valinte Oy

(1942 – ...)

Valinte Oy was founded in 1942 by Into Lintero, a Finnish entrepreneur. The name “Valinte” is a combination of the Finnish word valaisin (meaning “lamp”) and the founder’s name, Lintero. The company specialized in producing high-quality lighting, mainly using metal, often combined with opal glass or acrylic. Valinte lamps sometimes bore the “V-e” logo, referring to the brand name, along with a serial number.

Originally based in Malmi, Helsinki, the company moved in the late 1960s to a modern factory located at Manttaalitie 1 in Vantaa (Veromies), which was expanded in 1964. Valinte had its own manufacturing facility and also produced metal lamps and crystal chandeliers.

After Into Lintero passed away in 1996, his grandson Teuvo Salmivalli continued making lamps until 2000 in the town of Saarijärvi. The company, renamed Lampukas Oy in the 1970s, was later relocated to Saarijärvi, where it still operates today, though it no longer produces the iconic lighting designs it was once known for.

The factory employed its own craftsmen and mainly manufactured metal lamps, sometimes combined with plastic or opal glass. The founder, Into Lintero, died in 1996.
