WORKSHOP SECRET
OH Sjögren is a furniture manufacturing company based in Tranås, Småland, with over 110 years of history, making it one of Sweden’s oldest active furniture makers. Founded in 1902 by Oskar Herbert Sjögren, the company initially produced seats for carriages before shifting to furniture production as automobiles replaced horses.
By the 1930s, furniture had become its focus, and OH Sjögren gained recognition nationwide. Since the 1950s, the company has closely collaborated with designer Carl Malmsten, who developed a new line of furniture there. Malmsten sought a manufacturer capable of producing on a larger scale while maintaining the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
This partnership allowed OH Sjögren to combine tradition, artisanal skill, and Swedish design, strengthening its reputation as a producer of high-quality, enduring furniture. Today, the company continues to honor its heritage while offering designs that reflect both craftsmanship and timeless style.
An icon of Scandinavian design, and a name that feels very familiar to us: Carl Malmsten, who once said, “round off all the edges,” inspires and guides us in the selection of the furniture we restore.
