WORKSHOP SECRET
"A sunset that disappears to plunge us into darkness, where the primordial water still reflects the silver light. Flore's works are never neutral; they act on us imperiously, teaching us to think differently about reality, not to flee from it.
In this work, abstraction is not entirely opposed to reality; rather, it complements it. It is a parallel universe that has its own codes, often different from ours. She uses, as in all her paintings, the four languages of painting: colour, form, material, and light. Her art never imitates real and visible things but delves into the reasons from which these natural things emerge.
Beauty in Flore’s work is never simple; it is always complex, composed, infinite, and free. It is her subjectivity, her soul, her individuality that gives her the strength to lead us in her wake, sometimes against our will, but what a joy it is to discover her universe."
Alain Renner, former vice-president of Sotheby’s
FLORE SIGRIST
Flore Sigrist, a Franco-Swiss artist born in 1985 in Strasbourg, began painting at the age of seven, quickly revealing an exceptional talent. In 1995, she was brought into the spotlight during the first Sotheby’s auction in the Principality of Monaco. Her works, imbued with an abstract style, invite each viewer on a personal journey, free to imagine and interpret without any pre-established code.
