one of the finest parisian view

The apartment of art collector Chad Leat dazzles with panoramic views over the rooftops of Paris and an incredible selection of artworks.

Its proud owner, retired American Wall Street executive Chad Leat, enthuses: “Everyone I meet in Paris has a story about this apartment.”

Some claim that French writer Françoise Sagan used it as the setting for a chapter in one of her novels. Others refer to a film in which actress Catherine Deneuve's character looks up at the residence on the top floor and asks her lover: “But who lives there?”

The apartment is even rumored to have been the scene of a murder.

But what makes it so iconic is its huge arched window and its location on the left bank of the Seine, just opposite the Tuileries Gardens, offering a picture-postcard view stretching all the way to the Sacré-Coeur. “You could spend most of your day just taking it in,” explains Alvise Orsini, the decorator hired by Chad Leat to refurbish the residence.

What a pleasure it is for our Maison to be present in this incredible home, and for Alvise Orsini to have chosen our Argentina Grey tinted Fox rug as the central decorative element for the staging of the main room.

Alvise Orsini

Alvise Orsini spent his childhood in Venice and later pursued university studies in architecture there before moving to Paris.

His first job in an art gallery led him to meet designer Jacques Garcia. “He had a huge influence on me and encouraged me to design interiors. His conception of space, volume, and architectural elements is unmatched, and the bold and skillful way he uses color is legendary,” Alvise enthuses.

A few years ago, he established his own architecture and design firm and has lived in London and then the United States.

The timeless elegance and understated opulence of his work perfectly illustrate his Venetian roots.
