WORKSHOP SECRET
Names that have left their mark on Danish design.
The result of a meeting between a British businessman and a Danish cabinetmaker, France & Daverkosen, then France & Søn, quickly conquered the world of Scandinavian furniture. Founded in the 1940s, the company has distinguished itself by producing furniture that combines comfort, aesthetics and quality.
Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen were one of the most influential Danish design couples of the mid-twentieth century.
Their decades-long collaboration resulted in a series of furniture and interior designs that are still considered classics of Danish modernism.
